About Lil Sluggers

The Lil Sluggers program was founded in 2004 in Long Island, New York to meet a growing demand for toddler-aged programs in the area. From New York it has spread all around the country and is now everywhere from Florida to California.

Lil Sluggers Twin Cities differentiates itself from other Minneapolis toddler and child baseball programs (Park boards, YMCA Camps) in 3 key ways.

Maintaining very small class sizes: We max out at 5-6 kids per coach which allows us to match the individual needs of each child in the program. Our classes provide the most direct attention to the children in all of the Twin Cities and western Minneapolis suburbs.

A curriculum designed specifically for each group: Our curriculum is customized for each different age- 2, 3, 4 and 5 year olds are doing different games to develop their particular level of skills. This specific program provides the best toddler baseball and child baseball classes.

High quality coaching staff: We are very familiar with the types of skills that are required for coaching such a young age. We only use coaches with experience within the age group, and always have a senior member of coaching staff at practice. We take pride in helping our Lil Sluggers become some of the best youth baseball players in the Twin Cities.

Lil Sluggers has the experience and staff to help your child develop mechanical and team skills in a fun environment. Contact us today to begin the process for your child today!

Parker Ogden, Program Director

Coach Parker grew up in Uptown Minneapolis and attended Southwest High School.  He graduated from Beloit College in Wisconsin and moved to Chicago. In Chicago his desire to work with kids mixed with his love of baseball at Lil Sluggers Chicago. The Chicago program was the largest in the country and provided a great example of how to run a high quality program.  He wasted no time bringing the program up to Minneapolis and in winter of 2011 Lil Sluggers Twin Cities was created.

"Coach Parker is the best and really makes Lil Sluggers worth it! My son participated in two sessions. AJ's skills have greatly improved (ie aiming his throws, form for batting, base running, and even catching). Plus, he had lots of fun. I can't say enough about Coach Parker. All the parents thought he was great with the kids. He made sure the classes were well run and kept the kids engaged, which is difficult with 4/5 yr old boys! His energy and enthusiasm never faded!!

I was also very happy with the class size. Each kid got personal attention, and Coach Parker was able to modify drills depending to individual skill levels.
Thanks for everything. Go Lil Sluggers!"

"We love how patient the coaches are and how they really take the time to teach each kid. We also love how the coaches know how to be stern and make them listen or else they get "breaks." Coaches established authority early on, and it really helped! Coaches are so kind and cheerful we love the program."
